Fellowship Of Christian Airline Personnel

Introducing Katharina Wrase

Hallo Zusammen (Hello Everyone)!

My name is Katharina. I am 37 years old and together with my husband and our two sons we live south of the city of Frankfurt am Main (Germany). I started working as a flight attendant at the age of 20. Being selected by Austrian Airlines overnight looked like a coincidence at that time but turned out to be God’s wonderful plan for my life. One year later (in 2007) I moved to Germany and started working as a cabin attendant for Lufthansa. Besides flying I worked as a trainer for “Crew Resource Management” at flight training school. It was in 2007 that my father met an FCAP leader in Munich who introduced me to FCAP- Frankfurt.

My parents are Christians and because of my father working in the ministry I had the opportunity to learn a lot about the Bible. When I was 5 years old, I had an encounter with Jesus and decided it was time for me to hand over my life to HIM. As a child and teenager, I was fully dedicated to the Lord. After finishing high school, my wish to live in the US as an au pair came true. During my time there, I attended a local church regularly and got engaged in worship ministry. I also worked at the church’s coffee shop and spent the evenings at bible school.

After a year and a half, my time as an au-pair ended and I flew back to Austria with confidence in my heart that God had a good plan for my life. A week later I was already enrolled in flight training school to become a flight attendant. I had an exciting job, worked alongside wonderful colleagues and enjoyed travelling all over the world. As a flight attendant, having a regular 9 to 5 work schedule was not possible, therefore finding a church and cultivating Christian contacts became a challenge. This led to the point that God slowly faded into the background and didn’t have the first priority in my life anymore. It took me a while and the Holy Spirit gently pushed me to get back on track. It was a good learning process for me to realize that being fully committed to God in all areas of my life was what I really wanted.

When my kids got out of toddler age and I had some spare time again, I asked God, “How can I serve you?” Half a year later he opened doors for me to be involved in children and worship ministry. I have had the privilege to be the co-leader of our FCAP-Frankfurt group since January 2020.

God has carried me through all these years and whenever I am going on a flight with the prayer on my heart: “God use me today. Open hearts and give me opportunities to spread your word.” He is faithful. I love having fellowship with other Christians in the aviation industry. Through FCAP, I have been able to find wonderful and encouraging friendships all over the world.

My favorite bible verse and life’s motto which has been hanging on the wall at home since I was young is: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

If you keep your eyes on Jesus, everything else will be taken care of.

May God bless you abundantly,

Katharina
