The greatest experience of God’s love today, as wonderful as it might be, is just a taste of what awaits His children in Heaven.
One does not have to perfectly and fully take in all of God’s love to know he or she is loved. In fact, no human being can do so in real time in our present frame. The very nature of infinite love makes it not completely knowable by finite, fallen creatures such as us at any given moment.
This is the human condition at present, on this side of Heaven. Even when we are caught up in the highest spiritual rapture, experiencing the ultimate “mountaintop experience” with the felt affection of the Lover of our souls we have not yet fully known that affection. How could we?
Our hearts here on earth are not large enough to ever fully take in the love God lavishes upon us.
