When it feels like you do not have a single friend at your airline (and maybe everywhere else as well) it may help to remember that you have one never-ending, ultimate Friend, the Son of God Himself.
What if we Christians were to dare to believe, even during difficult moments in our lives, that Jesus Christ is our friend? We know He is to be our Lord, our King, and our Master. Unfortunately, we sometimes, to our own loss, focus only on the aspects of God that set Him apart from and far above us while forgetting this same God also became one of us.
As for Jesus Himself he declared us his friends if we obeyed his commands (which were ultimately summed up in loving both Him and others as ourselves).
For the people who bear His name it is absolutely true that Jesus is Lord, King and Master. What we so easily forget is that he is also our Friend.
No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. John 15:5 (ESV)
