Our jobs disappoint us sometimes. Our colleagues in those jobs often disappoint us too. We even disappoint ourselves!
Who, then, will never disappoint us?
One thing that becomes clear from a careful reading of the New Testament of the Bible is that whatever the Apostles’ experiences were of the Son of Man during the three years they were physically with Him, He never once truly left these men disappointed. Were they perplexed at times? Yes. Were they disappointed? No.
It is not in God’s nature to disappoint those who truly seek him through His Son. In fact, it is impossible for a perfect, and perfectly loving, Deity to do so.
God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? Numbers 23:19 (ESV)
