THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

Consciously identifying ourselves with Jesus is a huge part of what gives us the Holy Spirit power we need to love our co-workers.

How do we, as biblical Christians, come to serve as God does? We can only do so by choosing to identify ourselves with the One who embodies Him in human form and to whom we now belong. As we choose to draw near to Jesus and sit, like Mary, at His feet we will begin to reflect His nature. Then we will act according to this new nature. When we look in the mirror, we will begin to see not our old self but the image of Christ. This transformation will include a new desire to serve others, a desire that is based on a real love for people and a humble and sincere longing to seek their good.

“And He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ” – Matthew 27:37-39 ESV
