THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

The true Church has always been multi-generational. All ages are welcome in our churches and as soon as young people enter early adulthood they are brought into the full life of our congregations.

The same should be true for “parachurch” organizations, fellowships that encourage the forward movement of the same gospel being preached inside church buildings outside of their walls. There are thousands of para-church ministries around the globe. The Fellowship of Christian Airline Personnel (FCAP) is one of them.

We at FCAP desire to see authentically multi-generational ministry. We pray that our groups, in all nations, will be truly welcoming to the new generations of our brothers and sisters who are entering the airline industry. In FCAP groups whether someone has 40 years of seniority or 40 days should not matter at all. If we are all brothers and sisters in Christ we need to strive, in the Holy Spirit, to always live out the biblical truth that age (and even experience) should never be allowed to divide us. In fact, this needs to be true not just in FCAP meetings, but everywhere we go.

When we meet, we are more than just “airline people.” We are family. Though we come from many churches we are always part of the one Church Universal, which is not composed of buildings, but of human hearts. In that sense, when anyone of any age enters the room of an FCAP fellowship, they should not feel any different than when they enter the sanctuary of their home church.

“Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.”
