How Facing Our Sins Leads to God’s Grace

If we have sinned against a fellow member of our flight crew and they bring it to our attention we likely don’t want to hear it, especially if the sin in question is a habitual one for us.

However, if we want to be wise we might consider asking God to convict us of any wrongs we may be committing. We cannot be repentant for, and healed from, a sin problem we don’t know or want to know, exists.

The remedy to sin in the children of God is not perfect performance; it is the grace of God, but can we fully receive grace for sin we justify and cling to, whether on a conscious or subconscious level? At the least, we are required to ask for mercy on our souls when we are in transgression, and that is unlikely to happen if a believer is living in denial.

We must admit to our guilt if that guilt is objectively true; even when we neither feel guilty nor want to feel guilty.

Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14 (ESV)
