From Old to New: A Divine Transformation

Flight crews often see the awesome wonder of God’s creation outside their flying aircraft. That creation might seem much bigger than the salvation of a single human soul at such a moment. But is it?

The transformation of a wicked heart may seem small by comparison with the establishment of the planets and stars, of an entire universe, but do we see things rightly in this regard?

As awesome as the natural creation is (and we dare not trivialize its grandeur in the least) there is something about the alteration of a human soul given over to moral depravity, a soul worthy of Hell, that is simply astonishing.

Salvation may seem to work in the comparatively very small physical arena of the human heart, but in the realm of the spiritual its operation might completely eclipse the creation of the largest galaxy in the eternal sense. That galaxy may someday be completely gone. In contrast, a single human soul will exist forever.

For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. Romans 11:36 (ESV)
