Knowing a portion of the love of God in everyday life is an incredibly good thing. The idea of knowing it perfectly someday in Heaven is incredibly good beyond our comprehension.
We will never know the full extent of God’s love for us in this time and place. We are destined to know it fully throughout eternity and then only because we have been “completed” in Christ.
It is in this glorified state that the love of God will become known to us in a measure and quality we never dreamed of on Earth.
For now it is enough that we have come to know the love of God in Christ to the extent that He has made it known to us. His love, like His grace, is sufficient for the moment. There is always more to come. We can learn, over time, to rest in that fact and know we are the object of the affection of the One true Father whose love has no beginning and no end.
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 (ESV)
