Are You Worshiping a “Humanized” God?

Before we go out on the flight line, hoping to be a witness for the Lord in some way, it may be wise for us to work on understanding something about the unchanging nature of God, in the form of his attributes.

Theological words like omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience, transcendence, and infinitude may not be very popular these days in churches that continually stress “practical” or “relevant” preaching and teaching, but these words must be understood to help people understand the absolute uniqueness of our Lord

We cannot properly worship a God who we do not understand to be God, and these absolute attributes must be made known to foster that understanding in a culture that constantly seeks, whether consciously or unconsciously, to recast God in the image of fallen man.

Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me…” Jeremiah 9:23-24 (ESV)
