Sometimes we avoid whatever we think our Lord might be asking us to do, especially if it appears beyond our ability to bear. We might even try to convince ourselves that He doesn’t require whatever that thing might be.
It isn’t necessary to pretend we do not know what God requires of us once we realize just how much He loves us, and that is often a function of how much time we spend at the foot of the cross.
It is in what Jesus did there that we come to understand we need not suppress any aspect of His truth for our lives.
Willed ignorance of what we must do in obedience to Him will never set us free from any fear we might have of that call. What will is what He, in perfect obedience to His Father, did for us at Calvary.
“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!” -Psalm 143:10 (ESV)
