Introducing Kieran Siu

Aloha from Hawaii, United States.

My name is Kieran Siu. My wife and I currently live on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. I am a pilot for Hawaiian Airlines. I was born in Hong Kong and grew up relocating every few years from a young age. Although we moved constantly, I spent the majority of my time in Maryland, United States. I was raised in a Christian household, and our family would go to church every Sunday. Despite my younger brother and I being raised according to biblical principles, it wasn’t until after college that I began to develop a personal relationship with Jesus during college and aviation was a big part of my faith journey.

I majored in Finance in college. When I graduated, the world was still reeling from the effects of the housing bubble burst. There were very few openings in the financial industry. After a few attempts to return to school, a life-changing conversation about an international opportunity sparked my interest in the aviation industry. For the first time, I felt that I had a clear direction in life. Over the next two years, I traveled frequently between the U.S. and Hong Kong for interviews. While competition was fierce, God utilized those difficult waiting periods to help me break out of my shell, readjust my focus, and draw me nearer to Him. The plans He established for me were not just about my profession but also about my salvation and spiritual growth.

Proverb 3:5-6 NLT
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

By God’s grace and many prayers from loved ones, I eventually received an offer and started my aviation career in Asia. God continues to utilize those years spent in Asia to cultivate and enhance my faith through participating in outreach and mission trips. In 2018, I returned to the United States. I discovered FCAP through a colleague and got involved with the men’s prayer group. When Jake, the Director of FCAP, learned about my relocation to Hawaii, he planted a seed in my heart to establish a FCAP chapter in Hawaii. A year following the move, God guided me to many brothers and sisters in the industry where I felt led to form a group, and the FCAP Hawaii chapter was established the week after Easter, 2024.

1 Chronicles 16:24 NKJV
“Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.”

I am involved in a local church where I get to serve on the set-up and worship team. In my free time, I enjoy working out, playing basketball and hiking. I recently took my first surfing lesson, so I would like to include that in my list of hobbies as well.

I’d like to end with sharing a verse that means the most to me and may this also remind you today of God’s love.

Romans 8:15 NKJV
“For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’ “
