There is no greater motive in this world than life expressed and lived out of love. The true meaning of Christmas can only be enjoyed when the motive of God’s love is understood. God did not love us because he needed someone to love or someone to love Him.  He loved us because He simply, yet profoundly, chose to do so, for this reason only can we freely receive this as a gift. The healthiest relationships in this world are when people live life having received love that has been freely offered and freely received. The only other option, if you have not received this love in this way, is to continuously strive to prove you are worthy of being loved. But you will never really enjoy it, because it is like living life as a debtor, who struggles constantly to achieve love.  This kind of love, we are told, leads to fear and slavery. PMC   Consider…”This is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the payment for our sins. We love, because He (God) first loved us” (1 John 4:10, 19).
