FCAP Staff

The FCAP Ministry staff are committed to supporting, encouraging and equipping God’s people for workplace ministry:

Jake Joseph, General Director, has worked in the airline industry for the past 19 years in various positions for multiple airlines. He is a firm advocate of workplace ministry, and the positive impact believers have in the workplace. Jake believes his work is his mission field and his mission field is his work. He has been involved with FCAP since early 2013, and joined the FCAP Board of Directors in early 2020. And as mentioned above, he is now the General Director for FCAP.

Jake and his dear wife, Joana, have a beautiful daughter named Jenna. They love spending time together and serving the Lord as a family.

Jake considers his spiritual gifts to be teaching, communicating, and one-on-one mentoring, and has helped Paul with teaching the Workplace Seminars, among other leadership opportunities.
As part of his personal testimony, Jake relates, “Ultimately this is what I strive for: to be used by God; prepared and knowledgeable for the defense of Christianity; to be able to dialogue and discuss effectively in love; to be compassionate and attentive to the people around me, while being a true witness and an ambassador for Christ.” Jake is truly humbled and honored to continue serving the FCAP community around the world.

We thank God for how he is using and will continue to use Jake as a willing servant to carry out his wonderful plan and good works to bring glory to His name.

Paul Curtas, General Director Emeritus, grew up in a big family in Tampa, Florida where he enjoyed sports and recreation on the Bay. He pursued a theological education at Florida Bible College in Hollywood, FL (Bachelor’s Degree). He also studied Apologetics at L’Abri Fellowship in Huemoz, Switzerland; then studied at Biblical Seminary in Hatfield, Pennsylvania and completed a Master’s Degree at Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina. Paul has served on staff in two different churches. In 1992 he became General Director of FCAP.

For more than two decades now, Paul has visited and worked with people both individually and in group settings within the workplace in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the South Pacific. He has had the opportunity to meet with company leadership in various positions. Through his many years of experience with people in their workplace and his core beliefs as a Christian, he passionately communicates how the Christian faith gives work its greatest purpose in the most practical ways.

He has recently authored a book entitled When God Shows Up At Work which is available in English, German and Spanish. Paul and his wife, Claudette, live in Brooks, Georgia where they have enjoyed hosting people in their home from around the world. Also, they enjoy riding bikes together.

James Maasen, Ministry Manager, loves seeing normal people take part in the mission of God.  This has been a passion of his whether he was working as a Director at Chick-fil-A, a pastor, or an administrator for a counseling company.  He believes that God is able to take our work and make it a part of how He intends to redeem the whole world through Jesus.  James is excited to see how God will continue to work through the lives of airline people as a means of moving the Kingdom of God forward.

James has been married to Leah for six years, and they have a two-year-old son named Ezra.  They live just outside of St. Louis, Missouri, and love exploring their city together.

Cathy Goza, Administrative Coordinator,  has served in this role since 1980.  Prior to coming on staff, she graduated from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro with a bachelor’s degree in Secretarial Administration and then worked for almost seven years as a Flight Attendant for Eastern Airlines.  At the time, she had no idea how God planned to use her combined education and job as a flight attendant in the days to come.   As the need arose in FCAP for a full-time secretary, God led Cathy to leave her job at Eastern and come on staff.

Over the years, Cathy has witnessed a lot of change and growth in the FCAP ministry.  She can attest to God’s faithfulness through it all … faithfulness to answer prayer, faithfulness to provide for both the physical and financial resources needed to carry on the ministry, and faithfulness to change lives for His glory.  Her heart’s desire and prayer is to see that continue in the days to come.   Relationships she has gleaned while being a part of FCAP are cherished … to her, they are family. Cathy has one daughter and enjoys her additional role as a grandmother to three boys.

Edward Church, Fellowship Coordinator,  grew up in a military family and lived many years in Tampa, FL and graduated from the University of Florida.  Edward holds a master’s degree from Luther Rice Seminary and a PHD from Evangelical Theological Seminary (later becoming Biblical Life College and Seminary).   Edward and his wife, Patricia, were Flight Attendants for Eastern Air Lines.   Following the closure of Eastern, he worked at InTouch Ministries in the correspondence counseling department.

Since 1997 he has served as our Fellowship Coordinator in FCAP.  Edward’s desire is to see airline people and their families come to know Christ as Savior and their source for life.  Edward and Pat see themselves as Divinely placed.  They have two adult sons with wonderful daughters-in-law, and two sweet granddaughters.  Their oldest son is a pilot with Allegiant Air. Their youngest son is in Freight Logistics.

Claudette Curtas, Administrative Assistant,  supports and helps Paul, but also steps in wherever else help is needed. She is Swiss/American and comes from a large family of 8 children. Growing up in Switzerland, she graduated with a degree in Business Administration while working in her father’s business. For a few years she enjoyed working in the hotel industry both in Switzerland and the US. After that she mostly worked in secretarial positions in the industrial sector but also for missional organizations.

She was working as the Office Administrator and Assistant to the Director of Tauernhof (Torchbearer Ministries in Schladming, Austria) when she met Paul. They got married in 1995 in Switzerland and since then have been serving as a team at FCAP.
